Clever event marketing disguised as high-tech fun

Los Angeles, CA – July 21, 2008 — One of the most addictively entertaining attractions to greet guests at the next big corporate event or tradeshow may be a monster-size, full-swing, virtual reality golf simulator from Simstar.

Housed in a 4,000 cubic foot aluminum truss enclosure, the Simstar simulator provides enough freedom of movement for players of all skill levels. A twelve foot clearance is ample room for an experienced golfer to flex his talent – And the vast interior safely accommodates even the most hilariously reckless swings of those much less talented.

Ron Smithburger, founder of Simstar, says,” Even though the system provides a state-of-the-art, highly realistic virtual environment, our business concept is built around fun and entertainment. From the customized on-screen graphics and animations to the tweaking of sensors to deliver a ‘more enjoyable’ experience, our simulator provides a continuous flow of excitement for everyone.”

The company insists you don’t have to be a great golfer to have a good time ‘whackin’ balls in the simulator’. ” No matter your skill level, the simulator experience provides a great opportunity to analyze your swing, tee off on a famous PGA course or, finally prove to your co-workers that you really are da’ man!”

According to Jordan, ” From the moment we power-up at an event the lines begin to form. The unit has a fairly large footprint and is visible from a significant distance. As an effective tradeshow promotion, this simulator is a compelling attraction.”

While Simstar represents the higher end of golf simulator technology, their primary appeal to business is the fact that the system can be adapted to fit the growing variety of customer demands.

During breaks and between golfers a PowerPoint-type slide presentation is inserted on screen for all to see. During longer intermissions, the system will serve short videos and audio announcements. Jordan also boasts a proprietary software program which can capture and email a customized swing analysis to each golfer.

Taking advantage of the popularity of the Nintendo Wii gaming system, Simstar has added another dimension to the simulator business. ” With the flick of switch, and a few hardware adjustments, we can configure the Nintendo Wii to run on our equipment”, says Jordan. ” The video game option really allows us to mix things up a bit.”

Simstar has also been perfecting a print-on-demand service which can provide visitors to the exhibit a booklet which includes a photo of their time in the simulator along with information about the event or even the sponsoring company’s products or services.

Simstar provides golf simulator rentals for corporate events, tradeshows and private parties.
